The AI receptionist for contractors. Every call answered.

It picks up when your crew can't, knows who's calling, books open times, moves visits and answers billing questions, then hands over to a person when it should. It follows your rules, and it's part of the plan, not an add-on.

  • No card needed
  • No contract or setup fee
Inbox, Texts tab: Jenna Ellis texts that the furnace bangs when it kicks on and asks for Tuesday; the AI receptionist offers 7:00–9:00 or 9:00–11:00 AM, Jenna picks 9:00, and it replies that she's booked.
  • Answers and books Calls and texts answered, open arrival windows booked by your booking rules.
  • Knows your customers Looks the caller up and helps with their own appointments and invoices.
  • Hands over cleanly To your team, a fallback number or voicemail, with the reason on the call.

On a call

A receptionist that never puts anyone on hold.

It greets callers with your greeting, recognizes customers by their number and does what your front desk does: books, moves, cancels, answers "when's my appointment?" and "what do I owe?", and takes a message when it can't.

  • Books open arrival windows, instantly or as a request, the way your online booking does
  • Cancels or moves a customer's own visit after confirming, within your portal's cut-off
  • Answers a known caller's questions about their appointments and invoices, and texts them a link to their account
  • Takes callback requests and logs new callers as leads in your pipeline

By text

Texts answered in your customer's language.

The same receptionist answers texts to your business number, in English or Spanish, whichever the customer uses. When someone on your team picks up the thread, it steps aside.

  • Replies in the customer's language, English or Spanish
  • Stays out of a thread for 12 hours after someone on your team texts in it
  • Never answers a number that texted STOP
  • Your speed-to-lead text skips leads it already answered, so nobody gets two

  • Your own greeting, in English and Spanish, and a choice of voices
  • Handed-off calls go to your office and staff browsers, a number you choose, or voicemail
  • Every call's transcript and the job it booked in Inbox → Calls; recording with a spoken notice if you turn it on

AI receptionist: questions

What is an AI receptionist for contractors?

It's an AI that answers your business phone and texts like a front desk would: it greets the caller, finds them in your customer list, books an open time, moves or cancels a visit, answers questions about their appointments and invoices, takes a message, and passes the call to a person when it should. Tandem's works inside your scheduling and billing, so what it books is on your board at once.

Can it book jobs into my schedule?

Yes. It offers only the open arrival windows your online booking would, and books them instantly or as a request for your office to confirm, following your booking settings. A known customer can move or cancel their own visit within your portal's cut-off, after the AI confirms it with them.

What happens when it can't help?

It hands the call over, with the reason written on the call: to your office phone and staff taking calls in the web app, to a fallback number you choose, or to voicemail. Callers can ask for a person at any time, and a call goes to a person after ten minutes with the AI.

Does it speak Spanish?

By text, yes: it answers in the customer's language, English or Spanish. Phone calls are answered in English for now.

How much does the AI receptionist cost?

It's included on Level, with no separate add-on. Level includes 1,000 AI minutes a month, then $0.29 a minute. You can set a daily limit on its minutes, and every plan starts with a 14-day free trial with no card.

Can I keep my business phone number?

The receptionist answers a Twilio number connected to your account, which you can buy in the app. Moving an existing number to it is a port through Twilio, which we don't do for you in the app yet.
