Where Workiz is the better pick.
Our honest takeIf your business lives on the phone and you need inventory or franchise tools, Workiz Ultimate is built for that. If you want AI answering, flat-rate pricing and memberships at a price you can see, Tandem is the simpler deal.
- Phone-first shops. Workiz's phone system and call tracking have been in market longer, and many locksmith and garage-door businesses run on them.
- Inventory and franchises. Workiz Ultimate has inventory, purchase orders and franchise management. Tandem has branches but no inventory yet.
- Keeping your number. Tandem can't port your existing number into the app yet; Workiz's phone service is more mature.
No contract. Your data leaves with you.
Software should keep you because it works, not because leaving is hard. Here's what Tandem lets you take with you, and what Workiz asks you to sign.
- No contract, no setup fee. Pay monthly, or yearly with two months free, and cancel any time. The 14-day trial needs no card.
- Read-only, never locked out. If you cancel, your account stays open to read: you can still sign in, see every customer, job and invoice, and download your exports.
- Everything as a file. Customers, jobs, estimates, invoices, payments, your team, time entries and equipment as CSV or JSON, in full or just what changed since last time, on Level. The price book and equipment export as CSV on every plan.
- An open API. REST and GraphQL APIs, signed webhooks and a connection for Claude and ChatGPT (MCP), on Level, so your data can go wherever you need it.

Workiz now asks you to request a quote. Its last published price, in April 2026, was about $275 a month for five users on Standard, with the phone system and AI answering sold separately. Tandem's prices, including the AI receptionist's minutes, are on our pricing page.
Can I bring my data over from Workiz?
Yes, on every plan. Export your customers, price book and history from Workiz as CSV or Excel files and import them under Settings → Import. You see every row before anything is saved, customers you already have are caught, and nothing is sent to your customers.

Can I try Tandem before I leave Workiz?
Yes. The free trial is 14 days with everything in the plan you pick, and you don't need a card to start. Run both side by side, then subscribe when you're ready; there's no contract and you can cancel any time.
